cobra-start-end-clip
COBRA Start/End Clip

The Cobra® Start/End Clip Air is the clip used to secure the first and last grooved decking board in a run — the positions where the Hybrid side clips can't be used because there's no adjacent board to slot them into. Made from 304 grade stainless steel in a matt black anti-reflective finish, the clip is designed to disappear against the subframe rather than draw the eye, keeping the focus on the deck surface above.

Universal across grooved decking boards and compatible with both aluminium and timber joist subframes — unlike the Hybrid clips which are joist-specific, one Start/End Clip suits all setups. Can be fixed from the side or vertically depending on your installation configuration. Supplied with self-tapping stainless steel screws. Note that pre-drilling is required for this clip, unlike the Cobra® Hybrid range. Supplied in packs of 30 clips with 30 screws.

Key specifications:

Specification

Detail

Brand

Cobra®

SKU

COSTART30

Type

Start and end clip — first and last board fixing

Material

304 grade stainless steel

Finish

Matt black — anti-reflective

Joist compatibility

Aluminium and timber — universal

Board compatibility

All grooved composite decking boards

Fixing direction

Side or vertical

Screws included

Yes — self-tapping stainless steel

Pre-drilling

Required

Pack quantity

30 clips + 30 screws

Cobra® clip selection guide:

Clip

Use

Pre-drill?

Hybrid 8-18 Softwood

Field boards — softwood joists

No

Hybrid 8-18 Aluminium

Field boards — aluminium joists

No

Hybrid 8-18 Hardwood

Field boards — hardwood joists

No

Start/End Clip Air (this product)

First and last board — all joist types

Yes
